Abstract	Thymbreus, an exclusively Neotropical genus, is revised and a diagnosis is given. The following species are included: T. crocinopterus Stål, T. ocellatus (Signoret) and T. pyrrhopterus (Stål). A key is presented and the main taxonomic characters (head, legs, male and female genitalia) are illustrated. A table with measurements and ratios are included. A phylogenetic analysis and a map of the geographical distribution of the species are presented.
