Abstract	On the basis of an abundant material from the north-eastern coast of South America, viz., from the mouth of the Suriname River and a few other localities, the authors describe a new genus, Discapseudes, with the species D. surinamensis and D. holthuisi as well as a new species, Halmyrapseudes spaansi.
