Abstract	Nine pycnogonid species from four different families were collected. Propallene socotrana n. sp. and Anoplodactylus erythraeus n. sp. are described. Callipallene cf. dubiosa Hedgpeth, 1949 is fi gured and its systematic position discussed. The Pycnogonida fauna around the Socotra Archipelago (Yemen) supports the hypothesis the Socotra Archipelago represents an important transient zoogeographic region between the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.
