Abstract	A re-examination of the Dutch material of the stonefly genus Brachyptera resulted in the establishment of B. braueri (Klapálek, 1900) (new to the Netherlands) and B. risi (Morton, 1896) as indigenous species, although both are now locally extinct. The occurrence of B. trifasciata (Pictet) in this country could not be confirmed. B. braueri is also recorded from Switzerland for the first time.
