Abstract	We compile all published information on the Recent Pentastomida published to date, including complete synonyms, and species distributions. All host species are cited and their names updated. A taxonomical history of the group, a synthesis of phylogenetic information for the taxon, and a summary of the pentastomes by host groups, with accounts of the illneses they provoke, are also provided.
