Abstract	Two types of Turdinus kalulongae Sharpe, 1893, exist. The specimen at Tring is a lectotype, not a holotype as listed. The designation was indirect but consistent with the Rules of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. The case well illustrates the preciseness of the applicability of the Rules in action.
