| Abstract | The known species of Pterophoridae occurring in Argentina and Chile are reviewed. Nearly all the available type specimens of species occurring in the area have been examined and five new synonyms have been established. Some primary types are considered to be lost. In this paper three new genera and 29 new species are described. The adults of all species, and the male and female genitalia are illustrated. The distribution is mapped. |
