Abstract	The new genus Xyeloblacus (type species: Xyeloblacus leucobasis spec, nov.) is described and illustrated; it belongs to a new tribe (Xyeloblacini van Achterberg), and two Palaearctic species are included. The type species has been reared from two Xyela spp. ("Symphyta"; Xyelidae; Xyelinae) in Austria.
