Abstract	The collections of Bythocaris in Russian museums and research institutes were studied. Three species, B. biruli Kobjakova, 1964, B. curvirostris Kobjakova, 1957 and B. irene Retovsky, 1946, are redescribed, and a new species, B. kobjakovae spec. nov. is described. The intra-specific variation of six species of Bythocaris is analysed. A key to the known species of the genus is provided.
