Abstract	This paper contains a short palaeoecological and biostratigraphical evaluation of twelve Vertigo species known from Pleistocene sediments in Hungary. Of these species seven are extant in the Recent Hungarian fauna, three species live in neighbouring areas, and two species became extinct in Europe at the end of the Pleistocene.
