Rhagoletis indifferens, een nieuwe boorvlieg voor de Nederlandse fauna (Diptera: Tephritidae)

Rhagoletis indifferens, a new tephritid fly to the Dutch fauna (Diptera: Tephritidae) Rhagoletis indifferens is a North-American species which, in Europe, was known from Switzerland only. In August 1999 a specimen was caught with a Malaise-trap in a garden in Burgh (province of Zeeland). Later the larvae were found in the berries of Prunus serotina in the coastal dunes near Burgh. They were collected and raised. In June 2000 the first adult emerged. In August 2000 the adults were also found in the field.
