Five differently coloured specimens of Parerythropodium are compared. A large series of spicules, originating from four distinct body regions, has been photographed and measured. These data are compared statistically. It is concluded that all five specimens belong to the same species, P. coralloides (Pallas, 1766). The ultrastructure of the spicules has been examined with the scanning electron microscope.
