12 new species of Lunatipula Edwards are described and their affinities are discussed. The new taxa are: Tipula (Lunatipula) canariensis from Lanzarote (Canary Islands), T. (L.) kuehnelti from Spain, T. (L.) charybdis and T. (L.) skylla from Sicily, T. (L.) euterpe, T. (L.) stubbsi and T. (L.) wewalkai from Greece, T. (L.) kephalos and T. (L.) polyhymnia from Kefallinia, T. (L.) teunisseni From Rhodos and (L.) pseudowolfi and T. (L) vulpecula from Turkey. Also discribed are the hitherto unknown females of T. (L.) luebenauorum Theischinger and T. (L.) xyrophora Theischinger. Type material is lodged at the following museums: Museum Alexander Koenig in Bonn (GFR), British Museum (Natural History) in London (United Kingdom), Naturhistorisches Museum in Wien and Oberösterreichisches Landessmuseum in Linz (both Austria), Zoölogisches Museum Amsterdam (Nederland).
