A description is given of the arrangement cf the mafic and ultramafic rocks within the metamorphic complex in Galicia (NW Spain), followed by a brief petrographic description of some frequently found metamorphic types. Differences in metamorphic state and field relations lead to the conclusion, that mafic rocks have been emplaced in this complex in at least three distinct periods and that the two later phases are perhaps due to a process of remobilisation of mafic metamorphic rocks.
