Maastrichtian Paleocene and Eocene pollen and spores from Nigeria

In order to continue the investigation of the Nigerian Maastrichtian pollenflora (van Hoeken-Klinkenberg, 1964) with Lower Tertiary material, a study has been made of some boreholesamples of the Maastrichtian, Paleocene and Eocene in Nigeria. A comparison is made with the South American pollen and spores of the same age. The samples were kindly given bij Shell/BP Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd., for which I am very grateful.
