TitleThe New Guinea species of Pandanus section Maysops St. John (Pandanaceae)
JournalBlumea - Biodiversity, Evolution and Biogeography of Plants
AbstractSpecies of Pandanus belonging to section Maysops St. John [this section is presently classified under subgenus Lophostigma (Brongn.) Stone], about 16 in all, occur in New Guinea, the adjacent Moluccas, the Bismarck Archipelago, the Solomon Islands, and Northern Queensland, Australia. The majority (11) of the species are found in, and mostly limited to, New Guinea. Here these 11 species are reviewed, a key for identification is presented, and information on synonymous names, distribution, and certain critical aspects of morphology is included. In an appendix, the remaining species assigned to section Maysops are briefly listed. There are probably a few undescribed species.
