Although the Netherlands lie within the rough limits of the area of Geranium lucidum, this species is no native of this country. In the past century it was recorded at some country-seats in the province of Utrecht, but it was not recorded there anymore in the present century. Recently two localities were discovered in the coastal area. Of one of these, in the inner dunes near Overveen (Haarlem), a vegetation ‘relevé’ is given. The plant thrives here for the fourth year in succession, and the conditions seem rather favourable for its survival.
