Inhoud en gebruik van het Botanisch Basisregister

In the process of developing flora and vegetation statistics the CBS has collected a large number of data on autecological and other aspects of the vascular plants in the Netherlands. These data originate from various sources and have been brought together in one automated register, a botanical database containing information on the taxonomy, plant geography, morphology, autecology and vegetation of the species. Though primarily in aid of the statistical analysis of floristical and vegetative data, the register can also be used for external research and will be available, for a fee, on tape as well as in print. Continuous addition and improvement will enhance the usefulness of the information. The new subjects are added to the database in response to users’ reactions and CBS experiences.
