Glaux maritima L. shows a dominant occurrence in the lower parts of a salt marsh on the island of Schiermonnikoog. The author briefly discusses the establishment and persistence of the species. No germination in the field could be observed. Vigorous vegetative propagation was observed in the field as well as in sand and water cultures.
