The genus Tulostoma as occurring in the Netherlands is represented by T. brumale, T. melanocyclum, and T. fimbriatum. Practically all finds have been reported from the calciferous sands of the coastal area. A fourth species — T. squamosum — may be expected to occur in the extreme southeastern part of the country. A key to the species is given together with brief macroscopic descriptions which should help in the identification. Tulostoma melanocyclum, thus far unrecorded for the Netherlands, seems to be the commoner species.
