AbstractThe lichen Ramalina intermedia Del. apud Lamy was found near Apeldoorn on a decayed wall of an old castle in the possession of the Royal family. The wall, rising up from the castle moat, dates from the 16th century, but remained covered with soil for several centuries after the moat had been filled up with earth, only to be dug out again during restoration work in 1904. R. intermedia has not been previously recorded from the Netherlands. At the Apeldoorn site it occurs together with Gyroweisia tenuis, a moss of rare occurrence in this country.
