The genus Taraxacum and the species Plantago lanceolata are closely alike in their behaviour in space and time. Both taxa are characteristic for relatively dynamic and disturbed habitats, and this holds true especially for Taraxacum sectio Vulgaria. In the succession from a disturbed habitat to undisturbed permanent hayfield, Taraxacum and P. lanceolata increased in the first period. In the near future a decrease is expected. In this succession Plantago major is an appearance of short duration in the very beginning.
