AbstractFour new species of the genus Rubus are described, all growing in the NE. of the Netherlands. Rubus contritidens resembles R. egrerius Focke, but is a stronger plant with 5-nate leaves and wide petals. Rubus drenthicus resembles R. ferocior Weber but has mostly white petals and yellowish to brownish styles, and its leaves are usually not convex. Rubus aphidifer and R. passionis are typical representatives of the series Subidaei Focke ex Hayek: Corylifolii with purple small prickles. Both are glandular and allied to R. phoenicacanthus Beek. Rubus aphidifer is almost unarmed, with a very wide upper leaf, R. passionis has rather strong, compressed prickles and a suborbicular upper leaf.
