The author discusses the distribution of Leucojum aestivum L. in W. Europe and compares the vegetations in which the species is found in the Netherlands and Belgium with those of Ireland and France, in order to decide whether L. aestivum is native in the first named countries or not. He arrives at the conclusion that the species in question is really native there. A map shows the distribution of the genus Leucojum and in particular that of L. aestivum.
