AbstractThielavia aegyptiaca spec. nov., isolated from cultivated soil in Egypt, is described and illustrated. It is characterized by dark, fusiform, bi-apiculate ascospores, with single, subapical, conspicuous germ-pores. Its optimum growth is between 30°C and 40°C.
