On Phoma macrostomum Mont., a ubiquitous species on woody plants

The synonymy, characteristics, and habitat of Phoma macrostomum are discussed. In vitro two varieties can be distinguished: variety macrostomum with reddish pigmented hyphae and variety incolorata (Home) comb. nov. with colourless hyphae.
